ABOUT ME

I’m Hollie and I set up Alchemilla Floral Design to share my life-long passion for flowers. I’ve always loved being in nature and spending time in my grandparents gardens growing up so I feel like flowers were my destiny.

I create bespoke floral designs for events and for the home offering both fresh and naturally dried Yorkshire-grown flowers. I believe that beautiful flowers shouldn't cost the earth and offer the finest affordable flowers with soul, that are locally grown or responsibly sourced from regional or UK-based growers.

I love to be outdoors and now I get to work surrounded by beautiful flowers and foliage every day. In 2025, I'm embarking on an exciting new phase setting up a micro flower farm near my home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Having my own space to grow means I can grow unusual and eclectic flowers as well as the things we know and love so expect a carefully curated collection of flowers for flower lovers this growing season (June to October).

INSPIRATION

Wild and whimsical and always seasonal, I take my inspiration from the landscape around us and the gardens we remember from our childhood. My aim is to offer my clients and customers the finest flowers, sustainable floral designs with minimal impact on the environment and to negate the need for imported flowers.

My five-year-old daughter and Wilf my border terrier like to keep me company in the field and 'help' out.

Working with both fresh and naturally dried flowers, I offer organised workshops and private creative sessions, talks (on request), handmade bouquets for local delivery and retail, wedding and event floral designs, farewell flowers, wreaths and seasonal decor, flower subscriptions and limited edition greeting cards and prints.

You can also meet me in person at various local and regional markets and events throughout the year, including The Hepworth Wakefield Harvest Festival Market and Festive Market, Pollen Market (Sheffield), Crafted at The Art House and other local markets and pop-ups.
